Dear London and South East Members
The event which has taken place in Grenfell Tower in West London on the early hours of Wednesday has shaken us .
As the number of deaths increases, the immense loss of a community has touched a nerve within each one of us Londoners and has, once more, brought us together.
As women working in the construction industry, it is our goal to positively contribute to the built environment and this incident has felt particularly close to our hearts.
Our thoughts are with the families affected by the fire and with Dany Cotton (Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade) and her team, who are simply inspiring.
Today I am writing to you on behalf of our Committee to let you know that we have donated 500 pounds from the Regional Educational Fund to the campaign initiated by Haley Yearwood, Year Eight Director of Learning at Kensington Aldridge Academy, who knows many of the families affected by the fire.
The Educational Fund, which is generated from site visits proceedings and a percentage of our ticket sales, was set up last year to engage the young and having discussed within the committee we feel investing in the future of those families will be a very good use for it.
We would like to give you the link to Haley’s JustGiving campaign (here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/familiesofgrenfelltower ) and to encourage you to join us and donate to her campaign however much/little you can afford.
Thank you very much for your time
