140 + people turn up to support NAWIC North East's Annual End of the Summer Ball at Newcastle's Centre for Life.
The End of Summer Ball is always a big day in NAWIC North East Region's calendar and this year was no exception.
Following a very busy day hosting the 2014 AGM and Conference for NAWIC UK and Ireland, we were delighted to have fellow members from across the country attending.
This year was also fantastic in terms of local support as we managed to sell out our tables! This was a reassuring indicator that, as a region, we are making positive contribution and headway into getting onto the radar among our industry peers in the North East.
As with these events there are always many people to thank. We have also received sponsorship both from Advanced Renewable Power (ARP) and the Northern Counties Builders Federation (NCBF) this year which is greatly appreciated, not to mention those who sponsored raffle prizes and helped raise nearly £1800 for our chosen charity for the year, the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, chosen by us for the work that they are doing in Mongolia.
Although a key part of the event, fundraising has never been the main reason for the ball as it was envisaged to be a time to network in a less 'formal' atmosphere ... well as less formal as you can get in a fancy dress or tuxedo.
To assist with creating the atmosphere, Jamie and his band did us proud again for the second year running and the music on the night was absolutely fabulous.(See for yourselves)
We always gauge the success of the event by how many people you have to kick off the dance floor by 1am and the party was definitely still going on for a good group at that time, so thank you guys for a super set!
We look forward to another sell-out event next year so keep the end of September in mind when you are planning your days out in 2015!
Let's make it another great night. See you there!
