The North West Region of NAWIC launched officially in November 2016, as part of the National Conference held in Manchester. As a brand new region, we are always keen to hear from you, for ideas, events and topics you'd like us to look at in the upcoming months. Here's just a flavour of what we have planned...
8th March - (International Women’s Day) NAWIC NW Construction Skills Focus Breakfast Seminar to be held at Hilti (GB) offices in Trafford Park incorporating 3 keynote speakers focusing on how we tackle the skills gap in construction through embracing diversity, inclusive employee development programs and focussing on transferable skills.
26th April – NAWIC NW Careers in Construction event to be held at Sandbach High School in Cheshire incorporating career stands representing the diverse careers available in construction, one keynote speaker addressing the opportunities STEM subjects can leverage for a range of careers and guided tours of the new sixth form building.
September (Date TBC) – MECD Construction Site Visit to be held at The Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD), one of the single, largest construction projects undertaken by any higher education institution in the UK which invests over £300M to create a new and dynamic engineering campus.
