WHY NAWIC?

She first became involved in NAWIC in 2010 as she was keen to build up a new network of local contacts after returning to live in Scotland following 4 years in England. Having initially joined as a new member just as NAWIC was re-launching in Scotland, she quickly became involved in the local committee before taking over the role as regional representative in 2011.

Susan Gallacher, Deputy Chair

"I am a Scottish Lawyer who specialises in construction law and professional negligence. I have been involved with NAWIC for around 2 years now and currently sit as the deputy chair for the Scottish Region. NAWIC has been a fantastic way of meeting people from across the construction sector as well as presenting great opportunities to visit state of the art construction developments as they progress. Our events are always topical and allow the chance for everyone to network in an informal, relaxed setting.

On a day to day basis I advise clients on the most appropriate way to resolve disputes as early as possible and have experience in litigation (both in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session) as well as arbitrations, adjudications and the ever more popular mediation. I work with a wide range of clients including developers, contractors, construction professionals and their insurers on any issues that may arise during the course of a construction contract. It's fair to say no two days are ever the same!"
